Q&A with Chloe Sword.
Q: What course did you do? How did you find it?
A: I completed the HONA complete course with Chloe from the Beauty Space in Chelmsford. I absolutely loved it, Chloe is full of nail and HONA knowledge. Even after my course she is always on the end of the phone for support whenever it’s needed. I’m also going to be complete my SwiftTip training with Chloe at the start of October which I’m super excited about! I can’t wait to offer extensions to my clients.
Q: Why did you choose to qualify with HONA?
A: HONA first stood out for me as it is hypoallergenic, and free of all the top allergen ingredients (HEMA, HPMA and IBOA) found in other nail products. As someone with allergies, this came to my full attention when picking a brand.
I then joined the HONA community group on Facebook and this absolutely sold HONA to me!
I LOVE the way the brand reply without hesitation to messages and comments that people may have, no matter how big or small they are ALWAYS there for that support! Also I noticed how much they repost any pictures or stories that HONA get tagged in, i feel like this really hows how much we are appreciated by the brand. I also noticed past events that they have organised, and i just thought it was such an incredible thing to do and really get the community together.
The support from HONA ever since i have stated has been phenomenal, and I couldn’t have gone with a better brand!
Q: What advice would you give to someone looking to become a nail tech?
A: Research who you’re going to train with, don’t just go to your local college etc, find a brand who will value you as a nail tech! Never be scared to ask any question.
Starting out can be difficult but I’ve heard two quotes that I have helped me keep my motivation going and they are:
"Coca- cola only sold 25 bottles in their first year, keep going!"
"Don’t compare your day 1 to someone’s day 1000"
Q: What HONA products are on your Wishlist?
A: I’ve recently brought PureAir which I had on my wish list for ages, and it is amazing! As I’m going to be completing my SwiftTip training i have almond short and medium on my wish list which I can’t wait to start using!
As i started in the summer i have a lot of bright colours, therefore as we are going into autumn and winter will be needing some darker colours, definitely some of the new ‘Into the darkness’ collection colours. I love the look of lucid, noir, silhouette and velveteen because of the simmer😍
I’ve also been looking at some of the other dark colours from previous collects, moonlight, cocoa and willow look stunning. I do like a bit of glitter as well, so VIP, red velvet and glitter bronze detail paints will definitely be in my next order!
